PRESS RELEASE

A special meeting of the Hazara International Forum’s council was convened by the Chairman Haji Marzooq Ali on Sunday the 12th of September here in Walthamstow, London.

The meeting was opened with the recitation of Surah Fatiha for the martyrs of the recent Meezan Chowk tragedy and thereafter the Council discussed the incident in detail. The meeting members all agreed that there was a malicious ill will involved on the behalf of the rally organizers in setting up the unsuspecting and innocent Hazara youth to the exceptionally brutal and merciless massacre. The so called religious leaders even shamed the Taliban cruelty in pursuit of their foreign masters’ objectives and proved themselves a dutiful servant once again. They were in full knowledge of the fact that the stage of carnage and bloodbath was awaiting the naive youths and succeeded in herding them to Meezan Chowk where there were no advanced security arrangements in place.  There are reliable sources confirming that the moulanas leading the procession, kept saying we have been ordered to move on to Meezan Chowk and not to assemble at the suggested and security swept Mali Bagh.   It’s not the first time they have played this game and the events of 6th of July’ 1985, the murder of Ibrahim Shaheed and numerous other incidents stand witness to their obnoxious intents.

They torched Quetta city to flames and burned the flags of a leading nation and its ally at the instigation of a neighbouring nation internationally recognised as the “Excess of the Evil”, merely in an attempt to send a message that if they are attacked, this is a glimpse of what they are capable of doing. Their goal behind the ruthless episode was to get the story published in the western media, with the simple motto – the more the dead, the bigger the news.

Hazara international Forum and British Hazara Community is deeply saddened by the catastrophic occurrence and sympathizes earnestly with the guileless affected. We call upon the Hazara nation to recognise the true faces of such Islamic religious undertakers and make them accountable for their evil deeds. We urge that the Hazara Youth stay away from such senseless provocations and not to become a tool to the ambitions and interests of the deceptive forces. HIF also demands that the government of Pakistan and law enforcement agencies initiate the legal proceeding against the rally in-charges for violating the provisions of section 144 CrPC and breaking the pre agreed terms and route of the procession.
