Hazara
International Forum of
Great Britain
The Hazara
International Forum of Great Britain denounces the racially
motivated attack of Pashtoon Kochi tribesmen in Wardak, Behsood
Province of Afghanistan.
The so called
tyrannical nomads - armed heavily with the help of cruel Taliban
-have recently been invading the poor Hazara peasants of Behsood,
forcefully driving them out of their villages and plundering
their meager livelihood. These Kochis enjoy the full support of
Taliban and their sympathisers and carry out these heartless
acts of barbarianism at their instigation which is so typical of
Taliban, but try to paint it as a new installment of long
standing struggle between Hazaras and Pashtoon Kochis over the
control of natural resources in the form of grazing pastures and
water reservoirs. Several men and children have lost their lives
and many displaced in search of safe refuge so far.
The Chairman
of HIF Haji Marzooq Ali discussed the issue with Afghan Hazara
activists Arif Saher, Abdullah Akberi, Haji Mohammad Rahim,
Tahir Sharan and others and rendered the full support of the HIF
Council and members for the planed demonstration of combined
Hazara community in the UK, in front of Afghan Embassy London.
Haji Marzooq Ali expressed HIF’s resolute solidarity with the
oppressed Hazara brothers of Behsood and said that the Hazara
community of Quetta shares their grief and loss at the atrocity.
The Hazara
International Forum also censured the scandalous silence of the
United Nations Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), Human Rights
Watch and other humanitarian organizations over the ruthless
killings. HIF supports the cause of the Afghan parliamentarians
Ahmad Behzad and prominent Hazara politicians Muhaqiq and others
who are boycotting the Afghan parliament proceedings in an
attempt to draw attention and pressurize the Karzai Government
to take action against the aggressors.
HIF demands
that a full investigation into the facts of this tragic incident
is carried out by the Afghan government and the perpetrators are
brought to justice. A permanent political solution to the
dispute should also be sought so that the peace loving Hazara
people of Afghanistan especially Behsoods can live their lives
in harmony.
